We enjoyed staying at Tycanol Farm CL with lovely views and direct access to coast path. Can walk into Newport on coast path or along road. It was dry so we motored on down to the bottom of the field and had no neighbours but it is only a 5 site CL but with campsite attached I think.
At the time there was a CCC CS behind the pub at water edge, but I cannot find it now.

I am wondering if this was the pub and not open any more but still a CCC site

We are staying at Bargoed Farm tonight. Very nice site with a lovely restaurant on site called the Moody Cow. Not far from Newport.

There is a lovely site in Newport at the Parrog called Morawelon. It has views over the estuary and lovely walks. A cracking pub in the village is called the Golden Lion. Enjoy

From memory the turning from Newport down to The Parrog is very tight - unless there's an alternative.

It is tight but easy doable. We are just under 8 metres and no problem. Well worth a visit.

A good pub stop is the Nag’s Head at Abercych, Cenarth. Food great and Dewi the landlord is very helpful.
