We are travelling to Dorset in a couple of weeks and are looking for recommendations for sites or cs sites in and around the area , beach and country side would be good.

Highlands End, Eype near Bridport and West Bay. Not cheap but good amenities walks along cliff edges and down to the beaches, or also into the countryside.

Oakdown near sidmouth
On a bus route
Not on beach
But lovely site

Acton Fields near Swanage is lovely. A little rustic but a fab little site. Close to the Jurassic coast and lots of great places to visit in the Purbecks.

Smedmore caravan site near Kimmeridge is lovely. No facilities but walking distance to Kimmeridge Village and Kimmeridge Bay, which is part of the Jurassic Coast.

And there is also Norden Farm, near Corfe, which has all facilities and has a bus stop right outside the site to take to you Swanage, Wareham, Poole, etc.. It's also got lots of walks from the site and a relatively easy walk to Corfe Village and Castle.

That looks nice hollys mum
We've been a couple of times, to Kimmeridge, including May this year. Definitely one we would return to, as well as Norden Farm.

Dorset is a lovely county. Be sure to check out Durdle Door whilst you are down there too.

Tyneham Village is also interesting to visit, it's usually only open at weekends but is open every day in August.

If you do go to Kimmeridge there is a lovely fossil museum in the village, if that is your sort of thing https://www.theetchescollection.org/
