Hi,
We're having Autogas @ Thirsk fit refillable gas bottles on Friday 21st. Fancy a couple of nights Bridlington, Filey or Scarborough to play with the new kit.

Wonder whether anyone has any personal recommendations. Must have elec & hardstanding & take dogs. Ideal would have dog-friendly pub within a few miles walk.

We're in CC, whose site @ Scarborough is of course fully booked for the weekend & the C&CC.

Thanks,

Roger

St Helens caravan park 5 miles outside of Scarborough, best dog walking area i have seen on a site.
Look it up under uk campsites.

Still learning since 2010
Have a look at Lebberston Touring Park.
There is a pub in the village and one on the A165 called The Plough, a short walk away, which both do food. Dunno if they are dog friendly though.

Bridlington CC

Maybe typical CC-no Friday to Saturday availability from now until Autumn!

I do question why we renew-given their free booking, free cancellation policy?

We do renew so we can take our grandson (5) to Seacroft Cromer again 'cos he loves it.

Now to phone those pubs to check dog-friendliness. Rosie-dog is quieter than most kids & probably smells less. Bit gnarly this morning 'cos we got robbed by Millwall yesterday!

We're sorted now, thanks to everyone. We've booked St. Helens & the local pub, The Downes Arms is dog-friendly in the bar-& that's good enough for us & Rosie.

Did phone Bridlington CC yesterday & the warden said he had no idea about vacancies for our weekend 'cos their booking system was down. But maybe worth a try in future to ring CC's phone booking.

Cheers,

Roger

If you have a smartphone then "Doggiepubs" is a great app.

Just downloaded DoggiePubs & it's great. The number of times we've gone somewhere on spec & had to sit outside freezing & eating due to their 'No Dogs' rule.

I appreciate some folks don't like dogs (& there are dogs who are OK & those that are not!), however some of the kids who are let loose are far worse than our collie.

Such a contrast to most restaurants in France I reckon.

Thanks so much for all the helpful links & suggestions.
