Site recommendations Ghent / Antwerp ?

Heading to our son in the Netherlands, going to stop over night somewhere on route between Ghent and Antwerp, plenty on search for sites app, but nothing like a recommendation

First trip into Europe, dogs AHC sorted, ferry sorted, going to book first stop and site near son for a couple nights, then we will see where the wind blows, got a couple of must sees, but leaving to his Dutch Girlfriend to show us the sites

We stayed at the site within the Blaarmeersen park/sports area.

I have to admit it was not great, muddy and expensive but it's a good location to get into the city.
Free minibuses take you into the city from directly outside the main entrance.
When we were there in September 2022 there was a lot of work going on the so it may have improved.
Some road noise from the nearby trunk road.

Alongside the entrance is a wide straight 'canal'. At its city end there is a car park where some stay overnight.

It's only going to be an overnighter, but not on main road / service station, will need services and somewhere to walk dogs

Incidentally you will find the traffic 'interesting' , I had never before encountered so many trucks.
