:wine:Hi everyone

House sitting in Laurenskirk next month and have decided to take the van up and spend 2 days doing the 400+ miles from home.

Penrith is half way, can anyone recommend a place to overnight in November near the M6 at Penrith

Thanks

Thanks, really helpful, will look at both sites (as it's only an overnight I will check which is nearest to m way)

Thanks ScotJimLand, talk about ignoring the obvious

Do you know how much do they charge for an overnighter?

£6 if I recall correctly, there is plenty of good parking away from HGVs and coaches around the back of the farm shop.

There is also a 'proper' caravan site on Tebay services (northbound)

But better still is to Wildcamp at J 39.:thumb:
Just go to J39, and turn right.
Wild it at the top of Shap opposite a quiet council yard in the middle of nowhere.:Rofl1:
Good views of the M6 and the countryside.:thumb:
And all Free!:thumb::Rofl1:

You Know!
Forestboy has just reminded me of something that is really worth a look and its on your way!
Theres a place called Kirkby Stephen just off the M6 near Shap and if you like your old motorbikes theres a really old fashioned garage with the most amazing collection of early 1900s bikes and an old ford model T in the window just before you get to the town centre!
If you ask the guy nice he will let you in the shop for a close up!
The town itself is beautiful but to catch a glimse of such amazing bikes is worth the hour de-tour!
And the town is worth a peek too!
Its a little gem if you like that kind of thing!
I worked across the road on a small housing project a couple of years ago!
