Site Equipment Deposit?

Has anyone ever been asked for a deposit before arriving on a site (this question is not about Aires) to cover any potential damage to EHU or other facilities?

If I was being asked for a deposit to cover that sort of 'damage' I'd seriously question whether its a site I want to go to anyway due to their feeling the need to ask in the first place, ie do they get a lot of 'irresponsible' campers anyway who I wouldn't want to be associated with.
