Being a single bloke I have no cooking skills - I have eaten cold beans from a tin (normal I know) but would like to do better

This morning I looked in the fridge ()
....sausages and an open tin of mushy peas

I fried the sausages then added the mushy peas to the pan......fabulous!!

Looking forward to the same tomorrow!

Any other unusual combos?

I either stab it twice and wait for it to go Ping! or rely on Speed-dial #1

I can raid the fridge / freezer / cupboard and throw things together that make great meals.
While the wife will be saying "your cant put that with that" BUT she always eats it and enjoys it.. :D

When out in the van I often cook ( for cook also use warm up) using just a frying pan..

Those bags of microwave rice and ready to eat noodles are ok to throw in a frying pan, warm up and add something on top.
I keep saying I will do a book.. "One man - One van and a pan".

Your lack of cooking skills is nothing to do with being a single bloke, you have simply never bothered to learn.

You're right, I don't want to learn - I just want simple recipies(y)

Tomato soup, two soft boiled eggs, take of the shells carefully, place in the soup, cut open with a spoon and then begin dunking your choice of bread products .... just heaven

Plenty of cookbooks...
...5 ingredients
Students
Slow cooker

Etc

Tomorrow I'll mainly be doing a slow cooker English Breakfast...

I was always a decent cook but, when my first marriage went tits up I knuckled down & became even better.
This was helped by treating myself to a huge range cooker, I only got it to piss my ex off & boy did it work.
I love being in the kitchen cooking but, a seriously arthritic hip makes standing at the cooker very difficult.
Hazel @Mrsambulancekidd is a superb cook & we've replaced the first range cooker with an even better one.

It's about time you learned then. Being a bloke is nothing to do with it there are a lot of women out there who cannot cook as well.

No reason at all not to learn. Loads of books about and must be a load of stuff on YouTube. I used to enjoy beans with grated cheese on them and put under the grill.

How about eggs and bacon?
Add some mushrooms, tomatoes and spinach for a nutritious meal

Didn't the beans fall through the grill?...

Been cooking for 45+ years and to be honest I'm fed up with it

If I was on my own I'd live on sandwiches and take aways

Tonight's dinner, monkfish tails (reduced from local supermarket) wrapped in pancetta. It was lovely, but had enough of the cooking.

As sons used to say, when I was sitting watching tv, who unchained her from the stove:rolleyes:.

When I go visiting them and their families I always get roped in to cook a roast dinner (n)

Compile a list of local pubs that do a weeknight special, last night was curry night, curry with naan and a pint for £9.95. I don't mind cooking, and I'm ok at it, I don't always fancy it after work mind.

Yolks! I've just seen the price of it, it's a good job that a bottle lasts an age. It lasts even longer if you can't get your favourite baked beans! :ROFLMAO:

If you can read..............you can cook.
Go the Jamie Oliver route.

Sorry every time I look at chef menus they have so many ingredients and spices (that I haven't got) if I have to buy for the one dish it's too much hassle and cost !

My spices:
Salt, pepper, garlic, chilli powder....that's it
