Hi. Has anyone used a company called Simcorner for travel in Europe. They are currently offering a prepaid one month UK/Europe with 100 gb of data unlimited calls and texts for £35. I just wondered if anyone had used on in a mifi box.

Regards Chris

I haven't but just signed up with tesco mobile, £35 unlimited data 30 day contract and fair use is two months in every four but still no restriction on the amount of data used in the EU. You must use it for the first time in the UK though.

If you're overseas already, I just bought a 20gb Lebara one month SIM for €15 in Carrefour. When I activated it, it was actually 51gb.

A shed load of calls and texts and works in the van router with no probs.

Best I've seen yet. Simple to activate on the phone first via a code on the til receipt.

Bargain.

Thanks that’s helpful. I think I’ve found a solution for Portugal for the month I’m planning to stay there using Portugal Internet. Local Sim posted to any of 2000 pickup points in the country. Just need to sort for France.

It all used to be so simple.

Do you know if this will work in a mifi box?

I always get a NoS sim in Portugal, unlimited data. 15/20/30 days, €15/€20/€30

I'm in France using it in a mifi at the moment so yes, but I had to set the apn manually, when i first installed it in the uk it defaulted to the O2 apn and wouldn't connect, you need to set it to the tesco one, I'm currently in Nouvion getting 70.8 Mbps down and 8.18 up :giggle:

In France now. Just got a Reglo SIM from Leclerc. Paid with a card. Good value I think. 100Gb per month for 15 euros. You do also have to pay 5 euros as a one-off for the SIM. Had to show a passport and supply an address. I told the sales assistant that we were touring in a Moho and she didn't bat an eyelid. I think she just made up an address......

That sounds good does it allow roaming?

Is there actually a place called Nouvion? Does it have a cafe?:LOL:
Yes there is and i'm there at the moment, but i haven't found Renne's cafe yet :giggle:, it is the place that Allo, Allo was supposed to be set, but i believe the show was actually filmed in Norfolk. It's not very big, population about 1500 if that. Nice quiet aire no services but there is a Carrefour 25 mtrs along the road and a bar restaurant 25 mtrs the other way.

It's a Merc S820, i am enjoying it, being a big lad i needed the space. Unfortunately I managed to get a stone chip in my windscreen on the way to the tunnel yesterday or else i would have been travelling across to the D Day beaches today, but it's booked into a place in Abbeyville tomorrow morning for a repair so I'll see how long it takes them and go from there.

Do you mean in the UK? No idea. I didn't even think to ask.... I was more worried about getting anything at all to replace my Smarty with it's stingy 12Gb roaming cap. I'll try to wade through the paperwork to find out.
No, I was thinking Spain and Portugal, to save getting a Sim for each country.

from the Reglo website 8GB roaming.

The RÉGLO package "14,95 €" includes a communication envelope (deducted from your package or extension cord) that can be used in Europe and the French overseas departments (4) :

  • 1h per month
  • 100 SMS per month
  • 10 MMS per month
  • 8 GB per month

Just as a side note to the tesco mobile unlimied sim, there are three options, 30 day rolling contract £35, 1 year contract £30 and 2 year contract £25 i chose 30 day in case they change the roaming policy.

Scancom are offering an O2 Data only sim, unlimited data worldwide roaming £23.98/month +vat.

You'll have to DYOR, I'm afraid. My French isn't good enough to fathom out the Ts & C's. They definitely offer roaming in all EU countries, but it may not apply to this particular plan. I can't tell.

We looked this today, SWMBO insisted it had to be done

Excellent chap in sales advised collecting next week, day before we travel, so we don't waste a weeks worth of data usage (y)

Cheap phone & sim put aside to collect next week. Comms for Euro trip sorted :gum:

Not much use outside France then. Still, I'm pretty happy with 100Gb per month for 14.95 euros in France.

My 3 unlimited phone sim only gives 12Gb a month roaming. This is plenty for me as dont do streaming, just browsing, email etc. It does allow use as a hotspot
This is not available on new contracts though only those started before 1st Oct 2012. I made the deadline with 4 days to spare (phew!)

Asking because i dont know but
If you take out a 2 year contract are the t&c fixed until your contract ends?

I can't answer that i'm afraid, probably best to ask Tesco. If you're considering one of the O2 contracts check the roaming t&c's carefully i'm pretty sure the data is capped which is why i went for Tesco.

Edit: Scancom may be like Tesco then but it doesn't say if there's a cap whilst roaming.
