I didn’t say Poncheral was in the meeting. In fact what I did say was that it was the safety committee and the riders that had a meeting.
The manufacturers objected to postponing until monday - a separate issue.

Most of the hundreds of staff at the event are temps and volunteers (including all the marshals). Getting enough people in with only a few hours notice for a race on Monday was never going to happen.

I'm not often cynical, but I'd consider that complete bollox. People have plans and another life.

And could they have guaranteed free air space for the 2 helicopters ?

Yeah but what's he got to gain from making it up. Can't see it been seen in a good light by the big teams and heads of Moto gp

Unless you have put on a helmet in anger and raced, your opinion on whether it should have run is invalid..

As for the Monday thing, you cant expect teams to throw more money at flights and hotels ( assuming there were any to be had) on a whim.

Was a shame, but right call..
