Hello again !

My rear red/white roof marker lamp was the victim of overhanging branches this weekend and I've got a replacement. I'm assuming I need silkaflex for sealing the light unit to the side of the van. Do I use any of their products or is there something specific ?

Thanks !!

lights are usually attached and sealed with non setting mastic. you could use sikaflex but it will need cutting off if the light needs changing later

the one used by most motorhome/caravan builders is carafax, but the best one for diy is w4 mastic on a roll. easy to find on ebay and any caravan accessory shop

it is sticky and does not set, nothing like silicone bathroom sealant

Hello Nicholsong - you are an absolute treasure ! Thank you very much !!

I just looked - Would you recommend the uFC product ? I assume I can get it at any hardware store ?

I'm looking into W4 - not sure if my local motorhome shop has it - I was looking for something easy to get but I might have to order it.

So my local had W4 on a roll in stock. I have been using it but I've found that the plastic backing is difficult to remove. Thanks for your help

'Bondic' looks a terrific product but for a permanent fix

Yes thanks for that. I'd prefer something which I can remove easily in the future if I have problems again
