Hi, my shower / basin combo tap is leaking…! It’s coming from the top part that lifts up, left and right. Just a dibble but it’s all the time the water pump is powered.
Can these be repaired easily or is it a £1k visit to the dealership to get it done?!

I took out the little temperature bobble to see if there was a screw behind but when you look in side, about half inch in, looks like what I can only describe as the refil bit of a lighter.

i didn’t want to tug it too much…

it’s in a 2016 swift Rio 320.

any advice welcome!

Behind the red/blue marker will be a grub screw that can be loosened with an Allen key. Then the top handle can be removed. Then you will have a chrome surround that can be unscrewed by hand and this will expose the cartridge. You may get away with just tightening the nut that holds the cartridge in place. All this is “dry“ work, so no need to worry about water, until you undo the cartridge retaining nut. But I would advise putting the plug in the basin / shower before you drop something and it’s gone forever.

Remember that you need to remove the pressure, and have the pump off for that. You will still get some water out 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Right…I bought a new adjustable spanner and a 35mm mixer cartridge from tool station. The cartridge only cost £4.68, the spanner a bit more!

the retaining thread was a little tight but came off with a little careful pressure. once I had all the bits together it only took minutes and now, no leaks!
