Chausson 640 welcome

Since October 2019
Left site today without checking the shower tray and they discovered the contents in the bathroom area when we got back - fortunately mat soaked it up (good old mat) . The wooden drainer on top of the tray has been fitted by a contortionist but can be taken out (especially if you weigh 10 stone in the wet ) but the plug holes don’t drain well - ok they did need a clean but none of the sinks or tray drain that fast .

Any tips appreciated otherwise I’ll get a sponge and bucket ?

We use a Karcher Window Vac to clean the shower down. Our shower drains reasonably well if I have levelled the van properly.

We've just returned to from a 6 week trip in our Chausson 530 where we both used the shower every day. This was the first long trip away and I found that the two drain holes in the tray needed cleaning every couple of days, 'cos they don't half collect a lot of crap and hair (not mine as I don't have enough to loose 😁).

I just used the other halfs cotton ear buds to clean out the waste trap as it's clearly her hair and potions causing the problem in the first place.

As for the timber duckboard, its left at home as I can't be arsed to clean it after every shower 😭

Try soda crystals in boiling water to dissolve the crud . Also depends on how the van is levelled imo.
Tried this after someone else suggested this method, works like a dream.

Is the shower tray strong enough without the duck board ?

Thanks to all - as always very helpful ta

s the shower tray strong enough without the duck board ?
Hi.
I thought about this, but the Duckboard in one c/van-M/ho was a tight fit and i thought put extra pressure where it touched,so outed it.. Design. I know there is not a lot of room,BUT,why not Two drains in the shower tray ?
Lots of cracked shower trays were caused by carrying stuff in the Shower/Loo compartment while on the road. Finally, there is not a lot of " Drop " from the shower tray to the waste tank and sometimes it is not a direct drop add this into the mix and......... Sell the mo/ho-C/van and go PACKAGE holidays. :ROFLMAO:

Is the shower tray strong enough without the duck board ?
Good question I have a Dethleffs motorhome and I emailed them about the use of the duck board and they said to always, without exception use the duck board to spread the load and dry off each time after use hope this helps

Jewellbags never used the duckboard and the shower tray appears to be well supported and not flimsy. I suppose time will tell if I'm doing the wrong thing.

Interesting to note that the duckboard was shown as one of the extra features of the Premium spec in the 530 model range when I ordered mine. So if Chausson don't supply this on the lower spec models you would assume the shower tray is adequate?
