Was about to move my daughters dolls house, it’s only been in the shed for 30 years and a wagtail flew out, it’s made a nest in one of the bedrooms so I’ll leave it where it is for now!

Yesterday was my first real go on my new lathe and I made a fixed centre for the head chuck.
Today I’ve knocked up a test bar which is now ready to turn having positioned it between head and tail centres
After machining this along its length it should be exactly the same diameter at each end. If not then I don’t have perfect alignment
Fingers crossed

It’s as they say near enough for me and the measurement is only for comparison not important as long as the same

Micrometer arrived today so now I know my taper is less than a thousandth of an inch
