When funsters have put up pictures of things they are working on etc in their workshops/garages/sheds Ive noticed some pretty nifty garage set ups.

I had a large (large for me) concrete 8m x 7m garage installed a couple of months back and am a bit befuddled about what type of layout and type of gear to put in it, in the way of
Workbenchs, something sturdy ?
Tools, bench drill, grinder, tig, etc
Shelving types ?
Tool storage (or any type of storage for that matter...bikes/mowers etc)
Hanging style storage
you get the picture, Im looking for inspiration from funsters efforts.

Im also thinking of getting the concrete floor grinded and coated .

If anyone has any pics to show /ideas/ what youd do to get my juices flowing Id appreciate it.

Self erected 9mtr x 6mtr twin roller door.
Full width bench at one end.... Storage at the other and inspection pit in the middle.
Believe me, it doesn't stay that tidy for long.

No way I dare show my inner sanctum. Cook would kill me if she had any inkling of what toys I had collected over the years. I keep telling her I have a mouse problem in there so she wont go near the place. Just as an extra precaution, the keys are even locked in the safe of which she does not have the combination.

My hubby is just clearing and sorting out some outbuilding to turning into his workshops. Have to say he is taking as much care and time as I did to design and colour coordinate the rest of our new house..

I think your engine has an oil leak
Better get that pit into use

I bought one of these for my shed/workspace, it’s surprising what you can get in it...

I think it’s well made too..👍🏼

I need to mute this thread or I’ll get garage envy.. we downsized to a house with no garage 4 years ago so I have to make do with a shed / man-cave

What ever benches you make put them on lockable wheels then you can move them to clean and find what fell down the back.
Doubtful they will be correct the first time around.

I'm too embarrassed to show you mine, as they say up here, it's a right scrow !
Getting the big lathe this year has meant I need to have a rethink of what goes where. Rudimentally, black stuff (welding and grinding) are down by the double doors and the workbench, drill, mill and lathes are up at the (laughingly) "clean" end of a single width, double length garage. Even tho it's untidy, I can generally find everything, except the item I put down 5 minutes ago !

I can‘t show you the inside of Max’s garage as when we converted the integral one into two rooms he had to put everything in his new one so with his classic car and everything else he has filled a 24 ft x 14 ft its so full I won’t even attempt to get in it to take a photo.
This is the outside

I had a new electric roller door in green fitted and new double glazed window to my 7m x 3.5m garage 2 weeks before Christmas, repainted it externally during lockdown, and then found a leak in the roof where a roof nail had missed the roof truss, this had held for approx 18 years and then suddenly decided to leak.
I’ve repaired the leak, now waiting for better weather to pressure wash the roof and coat it with Acropol roof paint.
I’m fitting a new plastic floor in grey and British racing green in my own design but run out of tiles and awaiting for supplier to open on Jan 4th.
I had the floor tiles off this company . http://plasfloor.co.uk/
Ive ordered 50sq meters of double foil double bubble insulation off Amazon for the walls and I’m going to batten the walls and line it with 12mm ply.

John.

ps this is the design of the floor when finished.

If they're all full of Festal kit, you have a few bobs worth there. A man who knows the worth of quality kit. Why make the job harder than it should be by using crap tools.

Ive waited a lot of years to have a set up like this :giggle: A single garage for the Bike and a Double wide enough for two cars, my VW T6 fitted in here like a glove, the current MoHome has no chance lol

My woodwork workshop, nice comfy place to be on a cold rainy day.

The start of a project, Chris said she wanted new bedroom furniture, we looked around and I decided i could make something more suited to our 300 yr cottage.
