Newbie!
Hey gang,
I’ve spent a lot of time reading blogs & forums since I signed up to get a motorhome (Auto-Sleeper Neuvo), but what I’ve not seen yet, is actually how people organise their storage - I’m not meaning here massive garages, where you mount small cars, it’s more the general cupboards drawers, wardrobes, etc, where you store utensils, clothes, etc…

It would be great to see pictures of clever ideas.

thnx,
Heeb

I turned wardrobes into 'larders' by shelving them out as all our clothes were folded and put in upper lockers. I also use plate racks and wire shelves, the type you put in home cupboards, to give an extra level(s) in lockers etc which means I can shuffle them around to get them how I want rather than put in permanent shelving, the exception being the 'mug cupboard'. I have a tea/coffee/sugar tub set with it's own shelf that I wouldn't be without ... once it goes up in a MH it feels like 'home'!

As for cutlery and utensils, I use 'double stack' using 2 trays, a larger one on the bottom for utensils (the moulded type you'd fit in a home kitchen drawer but cut to size) and another which sits on top with the cutlery in and a couple of sharp knives which are used frequently.

The below pictures are from previous PVCs and our current MH.

Show off!!!;)
It looks even better now as I got more of the 'posh' mock wicker baskets (like the dark brown ones in the photos) as I can't be having any old baskets in my Carthago!

Ours is a bit like Minxy but not as tidy :)

I wrap my clean underwear round my clean socks with them then wrapped in a t-shirt. Our clothes are stored in high level lockers above the bed and that just makes the most of the space and means it's easy to pull a day's clean clothes out of the locker (before I go to bed if I remember!

Thank you Minxy ..... I thought it was only us that stuffed every last cubic millimetre with stuff.
Wont be telling SWMBO though as we'll never get rid of anything otherwise ....:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I'm guessing I'm not the only one who measures the baskets in the discount stores to see if they will fit any better than the baskets I already have then!

I also have the same type of "double" shelf dividers that you have but not sure where I got them as they have come from previous vans.

Our cleaning stuff is in a cassette locker (again in baskets) as the cassette itself sits a long way into the cupboard. It's easy to lift out the baskets and the vacuum cleaner (which also goes in there!) when I need to remove the cassette.

Tidy!

Some of the pictures were taken as I was deciding where to put stuff so were messier than they were once sorted, the cutlery drawer being a prime example as it got everything shoved in so it was all together then I had a good rummage and turfed many of the multiple duplicates out ... too much stuff makes it difficult to find what you want.

We have socks/smalls in a soft bags so they don't fall out when we open the locker door, makes packing easier too as I can pre-stuff the bags indoors and then just pop them in the cupboard.

If you want 'showing off' ... I loved the laundry hatch I made in our previous PVC under the end of one of the single beds ... worked a treat and I still miss it!

Compared to that we run empty. Not all of our cupboards are even full.
The fullest is the bathroom cabinet because of all the daft bits you need to store - baskets from Home bargains at £0.99 each
I fitted divider shelfs in the bedroom cupboard's to separate the change of bedding, towels and my smalls from her larger ones :hugs:

No point in asking me, this is what we took out the van before it went in for some works to be done. My conservatory has been like this since January. Gina.20220216_160022 (1).jpg

We use polystyrene packing cut into shapes that fit round the plates etc and then ones with holes cut out for cups and glasses - somewhat like the ones u can buy for a lot of money!

Mugs and glasses in socks. Plastic drawers in tall cupboards for clothes. Plastic boxes with handles (Lakeland Plastics I think) in top cupboards for food (tins, packets), etc.
Cables, tables, chairs, tools, awning, etc etc under the beds. Shoes in plastic bucket (soft kind) in bathroom - also water container, grey water tank , rotary clothes drier, watering can for refilling water tank, in the shower. Agree re light things above, heavy below. As much wrapped in towels as possible.

I don't have to worry about my mugs as they are 1970s ones with plastic holders and Pyrex glasses so do double duty and stack inside each other in transit:

I noticed those - we had some in the 1970's too. How have they survived?

They are VERY tough ... we've been using them for about 20 years and to day have only had one breakage when it fell onto concrete.

Recently re-designed the under sink cutlery drawer to maximise space use and avoid items falling out the back. Used to have a standard plastic cutlery tray (space wasted and gaps).
This has a movable upper tray at the front...

We found this neat little bamboo storage gismo, on Amazon, it is ideal for all the bits and bobs for regular maintenance, plus a few books etc. It fits in an overhead with ease.

We don’t have a lot of storage at all.
but as I am a space saver it gives the other halve a bit more room for her stuff.

as a space saver I seldom wear socks space saved and as for underwear. What’s that ? Even more space saved.
