Ok out this weekend and me and SWMBO got talking about future vans ( yes at some point we will upgrade / change)

I was think about maybe a PVC, but we both have non negotiable needs which are as follows:

I want to able to stand up without popping up a lifting roof, I am 6ft 2in....
Must have cassette toilet and separate shower cubicle
Must have fixed beds - likely to be two singles by the time we change vans
Must have larger fridge \ freezer
Must have oven and 3 ring hob minimum

Are we asking to much?

Lounge area as it's just the two of us will be swivel front seats

Anyone got a PVC that would meet the above and willing to share pictures, spec etc?

You could try a autosleeper warwick xl, and just leave the rear area made up as two singles?

Ive got a 2018 autotrail tribute t680 - which translates to a 6.36m panel van. Storage is at a premium in the van especially for bigger items like chairs and levelling ramps. The two couches at the back of the van have lockers beneath them (no access from outside the van). However, one of them is almost completely taken up by the electrical sargent box, the leisure battery and the space/water heater. There is storage under the dual passenger seat (backs onto the shower room) but this is compromised by having the complex metal framework for the seats/seatbelts. There are high level lockers above the couches and above the passenger seat. These are quite shallow so don't hold as much as you might think.
These days I put collapsible chairs under the bench seat. If I take the more comfortable folding chair, it travels in the shower room along with the levelling blocks. The external screen cover tends to travel on the floor between the benches and the hook up lead reel and step travel just inside the side door. Other things can travel under the table behind the drivers seat and then be either put in the driver/passenger footwell or under the double bed once made up. Can you tell I miss the bigger externally accessed lockers om my last motorhome?

Globe car have the 'beam me up Scotty' central shower cubicles or they do one with a fixed separate one, old advert below:

You'll struggle to get everything you want in a PVC though unless you have one built to your spec.

The IH rear lounge on the Crafter would suit if you accept the two singles made up permanently. The extra length of the Crafter allows for a larger washroom with the shower separated from the toilet. I can attest to the fact that the beds are very comfortable and about as long as you can get, and the wrap around corners make for good lounging with feet up.

I think carolyn has this version.

Thanks, when we get to the stage of changing we will have a look at PVC, but you have sort of confirmed that we wouldn't be totally happy and likely to stay we a similar MoHo style / layout to what we have......

You been sneaking into their premises again and sleeping in their new van conversions?

No woossh bang door!🤣🤣
probably nicest PVC I've seen though!

We've got a Rapido V68, and I believe the latest ones have a 'swing wall' arrangement in the bathroom.

Reckon it would meet every one of your criteria apart from possibly headroom?

I'm 6-feet tall and can just stand up straight with shoes on, but 6' 2"... I'm not sure?

Massive fridge, ours has a 3-burner hob and oven, large comfy fixed twin beds (or giant double), and a big garage at the back for all of the camping paraphernalia. (y)

Don't need to have any kit inside the van for travelling, because it all packs away in the garage - and we have full size reclining chairs, folding foot rests, two sets of ramps and tons of other stuff. ;) :giggle:

Not much bigger than a PVC but ticks all the boxes. You have have the electric dropdown or lose it, gain the head room and use the overcab. Swing wall for the shower

Not easy to get hold of at the moment of course as I've just found out with delivery delayed from March/April to October :-(

Well pleased with our Vantage NEO... Extremely comfortable for two persons and a large dog...

We went for the solid back with boot.... looks less like a van conversion inside and added security of NOT having two doors on the back for would be burglars...

The all in toilet and shower does not worry me, can have a shower while sitting on the loo..

Another reason we went for this model was..... I hate flip up sinks over the toilet..

few photo`s of ours, and a link to Vantage web site.. (y)

Prefer your back end 😙 does that allow for external storage access?

Yes.... That square bit at the back where the locks are and number plate is all boot...

There is also a small door (3 rd photo) which gives access to the boot.

Take the back cushions/fobs out and a good length and width bed....

We prefer singles... (y)

Separate toilet & shower cubicles ?
In a PVC ?
Does such an animal exist ?
Yes. Certain Rapido Dreamer Select models do with drop down beds as well maximising every bit of the PVC's limited space.
Dreamer Living van for example.

We nearly bought one you’re absolutely right. Unfortunately the trade in they were offering was rubbish and we were too lazy to try to sell privately!

Yes, I’ve got one. It’s a Rapido Dreamer D55. Separate shower and washroom, oven, 3 burner hob, massive fridge. The only thing it doesn’t have is 2 separate single beds - it has a transverse double which would probably be too short for someone who is 6ft 2in.

You make up beds each night? That's one of the no no's for SWMBO

Tend to sleep on the diagonal as SWMBO is a wee bit shorter than me 😍👍

Two sleeping bags and a pillow each... + half a minute of my time...

And plenty of room during the day for lounging...

Here's mine

It's a bespoke build on a Crafter maxi, so 7.4m long. It's about travel and having the bikes with us, yes we can sit up in bed. There is no gas in the van. Heating and hot water is by a Truma 6de combi, the stove is a Webasto diesel, both work very well. There's 2 solar panels on the roof charging 2 115ah lithium batteries with a 3000w inverter in the back as well. Fridge is a 90l 12v Thetford. We picked it up at the end of November and are full time in it. Currently in the south of Spain, even with the short days the batteries are staying topped up. Happy days.

It's worth a browse through the portfolio on the site to see what's possible.

Yes our RapidoV55 is that animal. Worth a look. I am 6.2 and can walk about. 3 gas burners, small oven, large fridge, front swivel seats. Bed is transverse. In my opinion a good practical 6 metre van.

I have the V55 version. I am 6.2 and can manage the bed fine.

Liked it except for the terrible change they have done to the side door. Give us the original sliding door anytime!
