Should I use my year old battery? (1 Viewer)

My new MH has one leisure battery 90amp I have another 90amp battery which I took out of our old van which is one year old. Will it be ok to use them together?

As long as they are both the same type i.e flooded lead acid etc etc I would vote "yes"

Before fitting it is probably best to give both batteries a full charge with a multi stage charger, not an electroblock type charger which usually does not go above float voltage

I have done similar things in the past with no problems. If both batteries are in good condition there should be no real problems. Before fitting it is probably best to give both batteries a full charge with a multi stage charger, not an electroblock type charger which usually does not go above float voltage

The electroblock 101c does go above float voltage.
It raises voltage to 14.3 volts for 1 hour for wet lead acid setting and 8 hours for gel batts.
It then goes to float voltage of 13.8 for both types of battery.

Cant speak for other versions. Info from schaudt docs, and its what happens on our van.

A new cycle to 14.3 v is prompted if batt falls below 13.8 v for more than 5 seconds on load.
