Should I empty the boiler for travelling?

No definately not, you'll have air in the system.
I fill the tank and rinse through fresh water before leaving home 👍

Only if sub zero temperatures are expected. We use our van all year round when we aren’t in lockdown .
Have you collected it yet Sandra?
Everything OK with it?
Mum feeling better?

Hang on and I'll think up the other million questions in a minute! :whistle2:

Boilers generally hold about 10ltrs, = 10kg. Are you sailing close to your payload limit?

It’s great to read these posts, takes me back 10 years to when we started, so much excitement blending with concerns and confusion 🤔👍

a couple of weekends away you will be offering advice to the next wave of new starters 😁

as for your question, definitely not, we have never drained ours not even for winter, but so much depends on usage, level of winterisation , type of boiler and where stored . Ours is on permanent hook up at home, which is another marmite question, works for us , we leave heating set at 10C , fridge always on and ready to go 😁

have fun and try not to worry

No, absolutely no need to drain
It gives you more to do on arrival at the next site and thus slows down opening up the bottle(s)
