Hi all, looking for some feedback please

In an effort to get some stubborn stains off my bodywork I resorted to using white spirit which had the desired effect but has left a number of shiny patches on my bodywork (see pics). Have I damaged the gelcoat or have I just taken off the old dull wax coating and this is the proper surface underneath? The rest of the bodywork is certainly dull so I’m hoping it’s the latter 🤞

Try a bit of T cut on a patch, it looks like oil/grease contamination

White spirit contains oil, so I think they are just oil marks that will wash off with any detergent such as washing up liquid. But failing that get some compound and get the shine on the complete thing.

Thanks for the comments. I've washed the van on a couple of occasions since and also tried some degreaser, still looks the same so I've ordered some specialist surface restorer polish, hopefully, that'll work. I need to polish the whole van anyway.

G10 compound is very good, l have to do mine next week, will use an electric mop and damp head, then go over with some G10 finishing wax. If you use a mop, watch out for edges and raised bit.
