And I could do with some thoughts.

We started out with a VW camper, OK for 2 people 1 dog but then we became 3 people and 2 dogs so got a road snail. Tired of towing after 3 years, got an Ace Roma coach built ....Miss Daisy. We have loved her for 8 years but concerned she would start to age faster we took the plunge and our Frankia I740GD (Herman the German) is now in the country.

So questions

We have ordered the extra bit between the rear twin beds to make a huge bed, how do I make this up as 1 bed? Can I get a sheet made to fit around what will be a pretty odd shape? Or ....? We usually grab the duvet from home at the moment which will be fine but the bottom sheet has me flummoxed.

Levelling wedges, we have some millenco ones which are now 8 years old and are disintegrating at a rate of knots. They are sort of criss cross black plastic and the tops of the Xs bend and are now just breaking off. What wedges do others use?

Thanks

Nice van hope you enjoy it.

As for the beds the best answer IMO is to make fitted sheets for all the individual mattress sections, they are very easy and quick to make. I can assure they are not hard the boss couldn't be bothered on the last van so I made them and I had to get the sewing machine instructions out to work out how to use it.:D

Have a look at "Memory Foam" sheets, we'd never heard of them but they are very good, the fitted ones are elasticated all the way around and stretch this is why they are suitable.

To solve the sheet problem I use a feather and down duvet (king size) in a cover on the bottom to lie on. It's good and doesn't move and if you need to put your bed away each morning just fold it up and pack away. No messing with fitted sheets, and it's really snuggily.

I just use king size sheets and tuck in around the odd shaped mattress. Can't find a fitted sheet to fit our bed - it's bigger than a double but not as big as a king size so a flat sheet is much easier to use.

Thanks for the lovely welcome

The duvet option sounds interesting. We have 4 inches of memory foam on top of our current MH mattress ...sooo comfortable.

And the wedges? What do others use?

We have the same twin singles in our Frankia Platin Plus and though it makes up to a humungous 7' x 7' double we still take two 4' single Duvets, they work just as well when it's a double as they do for twin Singles. Bottom sheet is three separate ones simply folded under. It has to look as good as our bed at home so scatter cushions too.

Welcome to the fun, get yer £15 out and you can ask as many money saving questions as you like!

Hey Denise, the idea of using a duvet to lie on means you don't need to tuck it in. Throw the bottom duvet on, pillows, and then your top duvet......viola! bed made!!!
