Anyone got any suggestions on how to make the pegs more secure? I find that no matter how carefully I put them in their holes the keep on coming out! I don’t want to glue them in.

Ikea usually have a rack of small fasteners, clips etc. the sort of thing people loose when assembling the flat pack things. It is free so may be worth having a look to see if they do better shelf supports.

What do your pegs look like?

You could put a blob of silicone sealer on the bottom on the shelf to stop them coming out, but will easily pull off if required.
You could put a small piece of double sided tape on the bottom of the shelf where the pegs/pins are.
You could put small recesses in the bottom of the shelf, so the pins can’t come out when the shelf is in place.
You could put some marks on the spigot of the pegs, so they act a bit like barbs, so provide a little bit of grip. Just squeeze spigot in pliers or similar to add some texture to it.

Wrap some PVC insulting tape around them;) Stretch it if it is too thick to fit.

Tiny bit if tissue paper around the peg I found OK

Get somebody with a 3d printer to make some 0.5mm bigger so a tight fit in the hole
