Getting Better
Now as I’m sitting on my arse most of time and it’s getting delicate in older age I’d thought I’d try and pamper it a bit..... I’m after one just for the seat base, I have Aguti seats if that makes any difference and I don’t want to spend too much as I might not like it and chuck it out of the window....:cautious: but I believe in getting quality....
I know cheap and quality don’t go together so I will pay for VFM...

Any recommendations please....(y)

I've got sheepskins, not covers if that makes sense Gary & I can't believe how much difference they make comfort wise in hot & cold weather.
I got them from skyeskyns, think they do a funster discount?
I bought 3 & cut one in half for the base & I use a pair of braces (upside down) to secure the upright one. Some folks have said they dont need any additional fastenings, I think it must depend on what your seat covering is. We also got one of the 'pet' ones & were surprised how generous it was & that's what I use on my seat base now. Probably cheaper too.

Great company to deal with.

Bought two last year as was recommended by a forum user. Used them for one trip to South of France, hated them, they are now mats in my static. The best place for them in my opinion.. Really could not get on with them at all.as seat covers

I too have one from Skye skins and love the quality. If only wanting it for your posterior I would do as Debs says and consider the pet version.

Bought two from Ikea couple of years back. They fit perfect and were only £15 each, they are wearing well and do the job.
They still sell them.

We got ours from Dunhelm Mills. Real skins in several colours. You can buy a single, which will cover the base easily or the double which will cover base and seat back. From memory the single was £35 each and the double was £70.

I thought it was for another ulterior motive...

There must be a resaon you want a fitted cover but for economy wouldn't a hide (as mentioned above) or a pad be better? You can use it on any seat you want, be like Linus from peanuts :)

Are some of the ones I saw online, either proper backed pads or thick furry hides. Janie

Those of you that have the Dunelm ones are they ok?
How long have you had them & how are they wearing, how do you clean them?
I know, lots of questions but I don’t want a cheaper one them wished I had spent more on a better quality one!

We bought Dunelm double ones last week(£70x2) and tried them against the seats, they didn’t cover the width leaving gaps where either your kidneys are or shoulders if shuffled up.:(
Needless to say we have a refund and now looking about for something different.

Hi Jan

We have sheepskins from John Lewis and Dunelm - they’re both equally good. I wash them in the washing machine on the hand wash 20 c setting then air dry till almost dry then stick them in the tumble drier on cool for a fluff up. We’ve had them for just over a year. The ones in the house did fade a bit (grey ones) but the ones in the MH (light brown) haven’t... our lounge has an atrium so it very bright so that may be the reason for the fading. Hope this helps. Same here but haven't summoned up the courage to do the base. It will only end up with dog prints on it anyway, so he can leave muddy marks on the leather inserted. Easier to clean........

at the same time I ordered the slicker brush thing to get mud & knots out as we'd got the dogs, that works well and also their woollen wash. I've not washed mine yet. If I remember rightly Kate had several and washed them a few times, one disintegrated and skyskyns replaced straight away. As I said, I think @Carol negotiated a funster discount with them.

We have had ours for 6 years now from Skye Skins would not be with out them washed them twice still like new makes so much difference you do need to say if ordering from Skye skins that they are for a motorhome then they make sure you have one to fit your needs., and yes motorhome fun did have a discount with them so it's worth asking if you got them from there.
Just depends what you want lots of options out there

The dog does tend to “rake up” anything he sleeps on. A lot. You should see the state of the covers on the side seats after he has finished.

We bought some from Dunelm a year or so ago and although they were OK they are Chinese and the backing hide is quite thin. After some use they crease and slip down on the seat back.
Ordered some from Skyskyns (tell them you are a Funster for a 10% discount) and the backing skin is much thicker so they are a bit stiffer and stay upright on the seat rather than sagging.
Lovely thick wool and very comfy.
Well worth the extra cost and they are very helpful if you phone and explain what you want.

Richard.

This was in Dunelm Mill this week ... looked really nice and big too.

Plus they had the small non flugfy chair type for your bottoms at £12.
