Ever since lighting was by Calor gas.
Last Friday my son (on hol from Worthing, Sussex) has had to leave his 12,000 mile Chausson in Bodmin, Devon. The garage diagnosed a failed no. 1 injector which they replaced but on road test they then had a code that no. 2 injector was faulty. They sheared it off when trying to extract it.
The garage couldn't remove it and after a lot of huffing and puffing have arranged for a 'Sheared Injector Specialist' to call on Monday in the expectation that he can get it out. It's a Ford diesel (my son thinks it's a 2.1L or 2.2L engine) and the garage said it's a common fault due to water ingress collecting in the injector well causing rusting.
My (handy) son has a plan to make a better arrangement for directing the rainwater harmlessly away from the injectors but it rang a bell in that doesn't someone on here produce a shield on a 3D printer - or was that just for the Ducato?
They are home now after staying in a hotel for 3 nights but had to come home for his wife's hosp app't as it was/is unknown whether the Sheared Injector Specialist would be able to remove the injector stump. Fortunately they had their Smart toad with them. The garage said if not successful they'd have to replace the cylinder head which seems a bit extreme as I've removed all sorts of sheared steel stumps by spark erosion although it'll still be necessary to remove the cyl head to do it.

There are some good utube vids on the net re extracting sheared off injectors, it's not an easy job( bits can fall into the cylinders) and a lot of the front engine hardware has to be removed first to enable the injectors to be accessed and the injectors hole thread to intact to take a new injectors (y)

Yes, to do a proper job the head would have to come off but unfortunately we're a bit stymied because we are in Sussex and the m/h is at the dealer in Devon.
When the RAC took the m/h to dealer they said if the dealer can't fix it they would bring it to his home in Sussex. Although I would be capable to do it, at 78 I'm getting too long in the tooth (aka Wise) to want the hassle and anyway it's too high to get in my workshop. He says the m/h is still under the extended warranty so should get a contribution towards the garage's bill. Whilst the head was off I'd be inclined to remove and free off the other two injectors to save risking the same problem with them.

The fault with the water pooling in the injectors is a simple fix. Below the windscreen there is a plastic cover over the wipers & the metal panel.the metal panel has 2 sets of holes in for left & right hand drive wiper motor fitment. On my lhd the wiper motor is on the right when bonnet opened & any type opf water on the sceen , yes even from the washers , an amount goes under the plastic cover & exits on to the rocker cover & pools around no;1 & 2 injectors. I just filled the 2 spare holes with silicon & that solved it.

If they are saying the head would have to be changed then it would also mean the double cam carrier which is above the head would have to be changed also as the injectors go right through it & the rocker area .
I can't really believe that they would not be able to get it out .

Thanks Gus. I'll mention the fix to my son. Until last week the m/h had been standing for 3 months whilst he and the missus were on hol in New Zealand so maybe he ought to check that leaves and such aren't blocking the scuttle drains causing them to overflow.
