I put this in the wrong thread.

After a slow start to the year i've got my first few good rides in and also found an almost traffic free route to work that involves some nice farm roads.

My first race is in June as part of a 4 man team for the retrobike website at the 24hr mountain mayhem event. i'm probably going to take part in the shoulham enduro in September and Viking challenge in October and if i get the chance the Holbeach St john charity ride and another retro bike social ride called gates gates gates around the Cambridgeshire fens. This year is going to be a bit quiet as i will be getting married at the end of August.

i will get some pics up soon. i want to give my new drone a try.

Just starting out with this motorhoming lark and discovered this thread ....great idea and I'll get onto the Strava group. I mainly do road and gravel riding but also a few retro events.
Long shot.....but any other funsters signed up to Eroica Britannia this year? ..... https://eroicabritannia.co.uk

I'm back on the bike now and have found an almost traffic free 10 mile section of my commute to work so i'm parking up and having some fun riding there.

I'm also a British cycling guided rides ride leader so i'm taking out mixed terrain rides some weekends if anyone is in my locale and fancies coming along. keep you eye out on letsride.co.uk

New to this bike malarkey (35yrs since riding a bicycle), cheating with an e-bike, but health issues mean that its a slow recovery and find it works for me. Better than sitting on the couch, anyway, 2 weeks ago on the west coast of Ireland, fantastic weather, quiet roads, amazing scenery...

IMG_6193.JPG IMG_6195.JPG
this was a short ride, 10 miles, varied terrain, still got jelly legs, I thought this e-bike thing was supposed to be easy :D2

It's not cheating to ride an engine. It's riding, just go enjoy it.
Ps. Nice is west of Ireland in't it.I am adopted Galway so slightly biased.
Edit just thought that might be Croagh Patrick in the second photo?

Thanks, yeah I`m lucky I spend a bit of time in the west generally Achill Island and occasionally Clifden, Galway so I`m very biased too.

Have plans to tackle the Greenway, Achill to Westport Cycleway, have done sections, building up to eventually do it in one hit.

Mountain is Slievemore on Achill.

Messines to Cap St Vincent and all the cliffs from Lagos to Cap St Vincent. 63 rides in total.

A few from this Spring and Summer:

La Semnoz in Spring (it was chuffing cold on the decent)

La Planche des Belles Filles on the way up (stage 6 on this years TDF)

At the top, the last 2km was closed this year although the legs were quite happy about that after the climb.....

Gorges du Verdon (was a bit steeper than i realised...)

And Semnoz in Summer, a quick coffee stop on the new wheels:):):)

It seems i tend to take more pictures of bikes than scenery, i'll have to change that.

Ride last Friday. Just starting to build my distance up again on my Tifosi winter bike. Some much bigger rides to come in the next month.

https://www.strava.com/activities/3159481842/overview

Getting out for any length of time has been tough recently due to the weather, so mainly shorter rides here this year. Will be happy once the clocks change and i can get some mid-week rides in.

Paul you must have got wet a few times to get those KM's done in the recent UK weather though. I think i'm still hydrophobic when i get on my bike

It's not been easy at times, but fortunately I'm retired so I can pick my days if there is a quieter weather window.

Just a reminder to Strava users - you may wish to change the privacy settings to it is not so easy to find out where you live or your bikes are stored ... you can set privacy zones so any rides to and from your designated protected zones don't show the start and end points.

Italy, Spain and France effectively banned cycling weeks ago so I'm not comfortable with 1000's of MAMILs still doing 50 miles a day in the UK. But it's allowed, so they will, even if it isn't in the spirit of Stay at Home.

When going for a run I always stop and start my watch on a different street

No one has posted 50 miles a day on this thread since social distancing came into being.

That would work well but I am not organised enough to remember that. Info for those using it, privacy works well if you live in an area where your house isn't the only one in the zone.
