Travelling from Glasgow and looking to stop here prior to boarding ferry to Calais In the morning. Has anyone used this service area? Thankyou

I have stayed at the business park off j9 on M20, I parked at the premiere inn carpark but there is lots of others, a bit noisy in the evening but quieter later in the night. It was a few years ago so don’t know if there’s any restrictions now…

You only get 2 hours without paying to my knowledge. I'd use park & ride if you can get there before 8pm

The caravan/motorhome area is very small and often full of vans so you can't get parked. Most of the rest of the parking (for cars) has height barriers so you can't sneak in there. I would choose an alternative if you can find one that suits your timing and isn't too much out of the way. The Drum Inn at Standford North is OK but a bit expensive, the road layout makes it fairly easy to park in the one-way road coming away from the pub back to the main road.

If you don't need services, my favourite is Farthing Common. Junction 11 towards Canterbury for about 2 1/2 miles. Lovely spot with marvellous views.

We've slept over at Farthing Common, prior to tunnel crossing. And it is indeed a pleasant spot with a fine vista.

If considering Stop 24, check out the cost - expensive as I recall.

A couple of months ago we tried out the C&MC site at Bearsted. It's less than a mile off the M20 and about 30 minutes before Folkestone. We were pleasantly surprised - worked well for us.
