Stupid question. Only had the Auto sleeper for a few weeks so still finding our way around.

the van is 2014 Broadway. I’ve just put it back in storage after a couple of days out and about.
I’ve a horrible feeling that I didn’t switch off the control panel. Does anyone know if the central locking would have shut it down automatically?

thanks in advance

Running the engine should have shut it down , unless you turned it back on after you parked up ,the central locking is not normally linked to the Sargent Unit which controls the habitation side of the electrics and charging.

Thank you. I’ve had one or two battery issues, so turned it on to check the level after I’d parked up. Oh well, it’s only a couple of miles away. I’ll still be home in time for kick off 😎. Cheers

Don't think it would. When your in the van using battery power only, locking the van using the central locking does not disable the electrics. Also leaving the panel and pcu on gives about 0.3 amp drain.

Thank you all. In actual fact it was switched off. However, I’m still confused with what the panel is telling me. The vehicle starts without issue, but the panel shows the engine battery ridiculously low. Faulty panel?

Could be a dodgy connection from the vehicle battery, you can ring Sargent's they are very good at helping over the phone

If you have solar and smart charge set up, I know on the Ec500 that the shutdown switch must be left "ON" to allow charging on both engine and hab batteries. Turned off the solar only charges the leisure.

After a few years I have found that it's better to shut the unit down with the black button the drain is too much in the winter and the solar panels struggled to keep the batteries charged. I have a Vanbitz battery master fitted to keep the vehicle battery topped up from the hab battery, it works a lot better than the Sargent smart solar charging.
