Seized Fiamma D door lock (1 Viewer)

I've tried silicone spray and cannot free the downward action bolt. Fortunately the lock is in the open position. I've been advised to drill out the lock which will free the bolt and then buy a replacement lock from Tentspares. Has anyone done this or tried other methods to free the bolt. I've read numerous posts on this subject and it seems to be a common problem.
