Electric Bikes classified as "L1e-A" category by the Traffic Departement must be registered!!!
According to the last modification done by the DGT, those electric bikes whose engine have power between 251-1000 watts, must be registered, which would imply the following; Plate Number+ Logbook + Itv + Insurance + AM Licence.
Until 250 watts are considered "electric bikes" and don´t need registration, as long as they don´t have a throttle and the engine stops when the cyclist stops pedaling-
We attach a copy of the first ITV card issued to an Electric Bike.
Advice; Before buying, check always the technical characteristics of the electric bike.
