Hi Guys,
I was wondering if anyone could help us find the best sat nav that understands we are 7.5m long and 2.4m wide and therefore will not send us down little lanes we really should not be on!!!!

Welcome.
You’ll be hard pressed to find one that doesn’t occasionally take you down narrow lanes, but we have a similar sized van to you and use a Garmin Camper 770 set to the size of the van.
Most of the time it is fine, but still needs human intervention, as they all do, to make sure the road you are on is suitable.

Hi I have had several sat navs over the years we have been motorhomeing TomTom snooper caravan edition etc and they have all let me down the Best way to use a SAT nav is don't rely on it 100 percent the last one I bought all singing and dancing with dash cam let me down on the first trip and another trip just after that in this country I've spoken to the Makers and I have been sent a huge upgrade I haven't used it since so cannot comment i think over time you get a sixth sense if the thing is going to send you down the wrong road yours martinn

We use Garmin camper, you set it with your weight, lengh and height.
So far not let us down. Used in UK, france, spain, germany,, belgium and eire.

We have ignored it occasionally, resulting in co pilot disembarking , retracting wing mirrors and visually checking that rocks and walls can be passed!

Arm camper 770 here. It sometimes takes us the long way round and we have been down some narrow tracks. My wife doesn’t like it but I do. I will read the manual sometime but have only had it a year! ;)

I am another Garmin 770 LTM-D sat nav and if you can fit a camera yourself then here’s a good company that sell great camera kits with cables with waterproof connectors.

Carry one of these in my MoHo glove box just in case I needed to measure a tight spot on my travels

Hi Vipar

If your Start 25 was sold with Lifetime maps then it has been clearly stated that they will continue to honour that pledge.

If you go onto the Tomtom Forum you will see this has been discussed and agreed by Tomtom. If you have not been offered an update you should have then contact them and complain. When you do state the Serial number of the devcice.

3 years of weekending with the odd month here and there.
Garmin RV 770, height, length and width input. Never put me on an unsuitable road yet.

Garmin 770 and BC40 camera, as per Bubblyboy, and works well (so far!)
Best thing is, the camera is wireless, and the picture comes on when the ‘van engine starts.

Tomtom Go Trucker is pretty good, although a bit off a 'marmite' brand. You put the dims of the vehicle in etc. Have had the very odd issue but overall and the same with all of them with all of them just don't rely on them 100%. Apple Maps use the Tomtom structure.
Our Pioneer is linked to a reversing camera, hard wired, and also has a 'CarPlay' facility which is brilliant.

We have the same size van as you and we use the Co pilot app for approx £40 which works great both here isn’t the UK and in Europe. Just downloaded onto a Samsung phone which is big enough to see clearly.
