Security camera box has been replaced and picture is now of poorer quality (1 Viewer)

I had a camera put on front of house focusing on vehicles,when suddenly it stopped working(my fault because i sent the booster from downstairs back to EE as i thoght it belonged to them,i bought two of the same but still couldnt get it to work ,a burglar alarm guy came out and said he couldnt fix the box took the hard drive out of the old box put it in the new box and downloaded the app onto our phone £210 ,however the photo quality is really poor compared to the old system ,is this because of the box?

HD vs SD? - my cameras default to SD when restarted and need to be set to HD in the app

Have you got it set to show sub stream for remote viewing, that is often the default to save data.

The box that’s been changed, that has the camera as part of it? Is it a new camera or the load one?
Can you compare specs of the camera, if it’s new?

But hopefully it’s just a default setting being lower than desired, as suggested above.
