Searching for the sun in France (1 Viewer)

In Brittany touring with friends who live here and the sun appears to have abandoned us Suggestions please as to where to go for some sun please We don't expect tropical weather or to top up our tans but we would like to see something other than rain, thick fog and intermittent drizzle Original plan was to head south and visit Ile de Re, then further down to Spanish border BUT we will go anywhere for a little warmth now 

We send this appeal to our fellow Funsters safe in the knowledge that they will guide our wheels towards the sun

This heartfelt plea comes to you from a dreary Kerham (free aire, no services) where we are listening to the waves crash on the beach and remembering our last stay here, when there was sun

Yours in anticipation, 2 slightly less spritelyislanders who have until 18th October to warm up before returning to the IOW (where they have had sunshine!!!!)

Bit of a slog but Annecy is great. Closer to you is the Vendée coast with its own micro climate of great weather.

St Paul les Dax, only 150ish km away from Spanish border but been nearly in 30's here today.

Had to sit in the shade and drink cold white plonk.

We are in France at Berny Rivière . 6 La Croix du Vieux Pont .3hrs from the ferry .on the river Aisne ,Plenty of sunshine , fishing is great ,indoor pool .We come at least once a year .This is our longest spell just over a month but will be a lot longer next year .Sorry folks time to get my shirt off ..Enjoy H

We've been enjoying lovely weather in the bay of Roses Spain. We are now staying at a really great campsite next to a beach, with good cycle tracks through the nature reserve...Aquarius campsite €18 asci.number 2799

It will only take you a few days to get down here...it's bliss.

Been glorious on the Ile de Ré the last few days. But rain last night and looks cloudy today, as does all of the west coast of France.

We will be heading further south tomorrow. The forecast is for up to 25 C in the southwest of France by Wednesday. And we may then pop over to North West Spain if the weather looks good thrre.

We also need to be back home by the 18th October, so plenty of time uet.

Been at Gruissan (near Narbonne) for almost a week now.
First two days were quite windy which is quite normal here but ever since it has been perfect. Mid 20s in the shade every day, just the lightest of breezes to keep you cool and sitting looking over the blue Med, surrounded by hundreds of gorgeous boats.
At €9 per night inc water what's not to like?
Oh, it's just a hop,skip and a jump from the Spannish border.

We were there last week and can confirm the weather is still good heading south towards Barcelona

After 3 glorious days on Ile d'oleron and 6 on I'le de Ré it is now raining so wherever our sun went, follow that! Oh, and let me know where it's gone too!

We have SUN!! Stopped off at Batz Sur Mer on our way down to Ile de Re today and we have sun blue sky, fluffy white clouds and a breeze off the sea. We are ignoring the dark grey clouds sneaking up behind us
The Aire is free as machine is out of order, 7 places with a service point, a bit scruffy but right opposite the beach. Will do for us tonight then onwards and downwards tomorrow.
Thanks fellow Funsters, as always you came up trumps we are confident we are on the trail of some reasonably decent weather

We've been in Lower Normandy for the past week or so and the weather has been sunny and very warm for the most part. Showery today, but back to sun again tomorrow, apparently.

We had glorious sunshine until about 3pm then we've had a shower but been assured by staff that we have 5 days of sun from tomorrow.
