We're staying another night at Malvern as the weather is so good :)

We've only just tried our satellite installation for the first time but it's failing to find Astra2. The lady on the Oyster stand suggested it might need updating with the current Astra2 co-ordinates! Anyone have knowledge they could share?

You do have a reasonably clear line of site south
If you have any large trees or building close to you they will obstruct the signal

Try selecting Astra 1 as your search one. Hopefully if it finds it then select change sat select Astra 2. If it is the same as our Oyster vision it will know where to look. Have had to do that sometimes when further south in France. As previously stated

I’m interested in this thread as I’m liaising with Anthony at Oyster at present.
We too have the same dish.
I struggled to get a signal at Brackley but put it down to trees and the site being adjacent to the US Sir force listening base which may have interfered with any signal.
Tried again at Bournemouth but to no avail.
Tried auto, manual, search by location, searching Astra 2 & 1, resetting, switching off, checking cable connections, I’ve exhausted the list.
I messaged Anthony this morning to see if there’s anything else I can try and will message you with any instructions if I get any.

Afternoon all,

Sorry for the late reply but it's been a very busy Monday here.
Chances are that the Caro system is struggling due to frequency changes as there was a change on the 18th of August to one that we use on most of our systems.

The best thing to do would be to contact the office where any one of us can talk you through changing the frequencies.
We're open from 8:30am till 5pm Monday to Friday and the number is 01858575928

Sadly the process is not something that I want to post due to having to access a secure menu in order to carry out the update. There are a few things in there that can cause major problems if altered by mistake so we like to be on hand just in case there is any finger dyslexia.
For those of you that already know the process though the frequencies we currently use are as follows:

Frequency 0 - Frequency: 11265, Polarisation: Vertical, Symbol rate: 27500, FEC 2/3, I/Q: 1
Frequency 1 - Frequency: 11836, Polarisation: Horizontal, Symbol rate: 27500, FEC 5/6, I/Q: 1
Frequency 2 - Frequency: 12207, Polarisation: Vertical, Symbol rate: 27500, FEC 5/6, I/Q: 1
Frequency 3 - Frequency: 11307, Polarisation: Horizontal, Symbol rate: 27500, FEC 2/3, I/Q: 1

Can anyone tell me how the CARO control unit is fixed? I've attempted to remove ours to get to the SD card slot but I'm unable to budge it! I can't get to the other side of the bulkhead as I'd have to remove a full size fridge to do so!

I'm hoping the unit just slides onto a couple of retaining screws :)

Good morning John,

There are two panels either side of the screen that will slide off to the side and reveal the screws holding it to the backing plate.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Anthony, hopefully I'll remove the unit later today :) Thanks

If it's necessary to ring you, I'll try asap else, to save you time perhaps the instructions can be emailed? If so, I'll PM my email address now :)

Many thanks

John
