I tried some brake cleaner yesterday, worked well tbh, just spray on and wipe off straight away with a micro fiber cloth đź‘Ś

many many years! since I was a kid
I was helping a friend with their van last week and had a tub of wonder wipes to clean my hands. Sort of unintentionally I found they work brilliantly cleaning mould and black marks of sealant, when I wipes some grease off and the sealant came up white with a light rub over

I am a firm believer in using neat bleach with a small brush for all mould problems, especially cleaning bathroom tiles, and sealants arround baths & shower trays....just ask my lazy tenants.:swear:
I apply it, leave a few minutes then rinse off, its never failed me yet, unless it needed re-sealing with a new silicon bead.
WD40 for removing old silicon is another good tip I was given.

Auto glym caravan and motorhome cleaner and a toothbrush. Very little effort, you do need to make sure it's rinsed well afterwards.

I use Diamondbrite conserver and that brings the white rubber joint seals up gleaming white (and makes the pink staining disappear too). Just rub on with a damp cloth and wash off.

I'm normally a big fan of bleach. Especially carefully used sparingly in water systems. But it doesn't touch the staining on our Carado. I thinks its good for silicon sealant but not so good for the acrylic stuff. It's not great to get on your paintwork either I'm gonna try some of the tips on here.

I once removed some bathroom sealant due to black staining. I was suprised to find it was actually inside the sealant so no amount of surface cleaning would help. Had to dug it out and reseal.

Many plumbers do not use gloves, you apply sealant and run a finger over it particles of skin and or bacteria can be left inside which causes the mould so always use gloves and a tool
