As promised the Sony VIAO was returned today, 5 days from collection to return .. excellent service.
As I suspected it required a new hard drive and as a good will gesture they (Sony) included a free cleaning cloth ...
But you don't mention whether it works Jim.....
To Be fair, Sony are one of the better companies in turning kit around quickly.
From experience, we are seeing more failures on Hard disks recently and it makes you wonder how much more data they can manage to store on the same size platter!!
I'll be watching this thread with interest..:thumb:
