I'm a newbie
Hi Funsters,
first time I have needed to use the Screen washers on my Trany for I cant remember when, and because I had the heater on the screen, something I never do, normally, especially if the roads have been Salted, because I find, by the end of the day, the screen has a a dried layer of Salt, which I find a Pig to clear. and my washer bottle was frozen.
This got me thinking what do others put in their washer bottles to keep a nice clear screen, this time of year.
I would love to know. Many years ago before washer bottles were installed, an old feller I knew cut a potato in half and rubbed it on his windscreen. I bet there are some great solutions out there, some may be able to buy off the shelf !

Its alot easier to just put winter screenwash in it stops any freezing problems, we always put - 20 or - 25 in. 😁

Here in Spain we use the equivalent to halford's screenwash, but then it doesn't get that cold where we are. 😎 Bob.

Frozen washer bottles and pump up tyres haven't been sorted yet so it'll be a long time until I'm in a driverless car :ROFLMAO:

-10% screen wash and use Rainex windscreen cleaner first so that dirt washes straight off.

I buy a 5 gallon drum of the neat stuff from the local motor factors and fit a barrel tap (off Ebay) to it and decant it into a watering can, no point in paying for water in the ready mixed stuff ?

Thanks, All, for your input.

I think I may try Aldi first, then if not, a bulk buy of neat screen wash.
Thank

Asda’s and Halfords both do 5 litre bottles of -15 screen wash that works very well.

Got some from Halfords effective to -10 degrees and it works. £6.49 a gallon.

Someone mentioned Aldi. Bought 10l of Adblu yesterday £16.99, exactly £6 cheaper than Screwfix.

Here in spain I use -13ºc undiluted screen wash all year round. 5 litres/month I average. can't stand dirt on the screen.

Does Adblue degrade over time if the container not opened?

I would store it a dark cool place. Let's face it the stuff in the tank could have been there for years, all be it diluted from time to time.
