Scottish Beach Location over Christmas & New Year

Hi Funsters,
We're planning a Christmas & New Year Trip to Scotland and wanted to spend New Year on a Beach (Coastal or Loch)..ideally a small CL/ CS type site, but location is the most important (as is a warm jumper ). Need direct access to the beach from the MoHo.

Any recommendations on sites would be welcome

Ayr sea front, straight on the beach or the beach comes to you if blowing a gale, short walk into town for shopping, brisk but nice if the weather plays Ball,

I recommend you make an appointment with your GP for more medication

Seriously I would look at the east coast
More chance of offshore wind so avoiding getting your van sandblasted

Clachtoll on the west coast was really nice not sure if they are open in winter.
