Why don't they call it 516? Perhaps you get 16 miles free. There's a few on here and proper answers soon

hi has anyone done the 500 route around scotland

It only does a little bit of Scotland; the bit around the top.

There’s lot more to see besides the NC500.

Loads of threads on here about it.

Do the best bit, the South West 250, it's warmer and a lot quieter.

It would seem that the route has been enormously successful perhaps too successful and its success is causing logistic and infrastructure problems on some parts of the route. As others say it may be better to plan from scratch but including elements in the 500. European campers especially those from Germany and the Netherlands discovered the route decades ago so its about packaging a tourist concept. Jolly good marketing though.

Often those who complain about such things are 'white settlers'

Since 1964 Gosh that makes me feel old.

A serious question here, if Nicola Sturgeon is so unimportant, why is it that everyone from south of the border gets so upset & worried by her? Its honestly a serious question & I'm curious.

That goes hand in hand with " if Scotland is such a drain on the UK economy why is Westminster so desperate to keep it "

I'm a white settler married an Inverness lassie. The NC500 goes past our village. It brings in people who spend money.
We see old sports cars, bikers, cyclists, and yes lots of motorhomes.
It is very busy for 9 -10 months and in some ways causes problems due to the amount of traffic. But I think on the whole is good for the Highlands.
We go out in our van 2 weekend in each month mostly all year and o some occasions find parking up difficult, so just move on somewhere else.
Don't ask what it's like, just come up it's lovely.

Haven’t got a postcard but try these:

Nuclear sub base
Oil (yes I know it’s it’s running out but don’t believe all that you read)
Canon fodder for stupid politicians
Whisky

Tbf, I've never been upset by her (or the guy who pulls her strings). I see her more like a comedy act but much prefer

At least she's believable

Scotland is part of the United Kingdom, that's why it should stay. Sturgeon is unimportant but Holyrood, of which she is First Minister, now has enough power to make her dangerous.

As others have said teh NC500 is fabulous but there is an awful lot more to see.

Look iplayer for "The Road Less Traveled" for more ideas - the first in a series was on last night.

Unfortunately it's only important when it suits Westminster......as far as I can see anyway.

Aye, it's always Westminster's fault, that's what Sturgeon says.

I'm afraid I agree with her but I've no desire to turn this thread in to a politics or Brexit one so I'll agree to disagree and leave it at that
