Learning to appreciate what time we have left
We had planned for a spring trip but decided to go in September instead after finding out the prices go up by nearly 40%! Hey oh...looks like a rainy trip for us ! :D

April can actually be quite nice up here, we normally have a wee dry spell March April time but not guaranteed.

If your coming to Scotland no matter when you came you have to be prepared for all seasons, we are planning on doing the NC500 this March/April.

I agree
forget the Midges, the Clegs are ferocious. We got attacked by a swarm of them, they draw blood and cause large swelling. take plenty of anti histamine.

We've been to Mull every April for about 10 years. The weather has generally been pretty good.

Since 1964 Gosh that makes me feel old.
Last two years & april its been superb weather wise here in Scotland. :clap2:
Certainly no midges nor horse flies, so its a win win situation, if you get the weather right but, this is the northern sector of the British Isles & if your not prepared for wet weather you might not enjoy your holidays.

Don't ignore the north east coast which is usually drier and midge free. Coast line is fantastic and much quieter than the west.
Like any part of the UK in April be prepared for all types of weather.

April is generally OK, but this is Scotland after all , be prepared for anything,

Over the last few years May's weather has been very good, lots of sun and before the Midges arrive !!!!,
