We are just about to do a Scottish road trip encompassing Skye, the NC500, and hopefully other scenic places. If you see us come say hello preferably with a “wee dram” or something.
We have an Adria Twin pvc, number F1LYP.
Hopefully a reasonably midge free experience will be had or we move on somewhere else.
Hope to see some Funsters.

We did it late April, up the East coast over the top and down the west, then down to see family in Ayrshire. We had a great time, with lasting memories, will go back next April do more of the middle bits we missed, but we did nip inland at Pitlochry went through Glenshee to Braemar,(old military road) then on to Tomintoul, so glad we did that bit...awesome views.
We went across the bridge onto Skye to get Gas & Fuel but it was already packed with hire campers, so we left promptly.
We had 3 weeks of great weather no rain, and no midges, learnt a lot of where we wouldn't bother to go to next time like the far North East ( Caithness).
Have fun & Enjoy the views.

Still midge season I'm afraid so be prepared, but should be a little quieter as schools are back

Have fun....go easy on the Mudhouse ! ?

Take plenty of midgie repellent. My neighbours brother lives on Skye and he's still wearing full combat netting as the midgies are rife.

Don't fret too much about the dreaded midges, they're already near the end of their season. There were some scare stories flying about (pun intended) about this being a mega year for midges, total nonsense. We've had a very mixed bag of weather with some periods of heavy rain, the rivers & lochs are full which meant that the midge larva were washed away just as they've been ready to hatch.
We live right on the edge of the Galloway Forest Park & apart from a few nights there have been far fewer midges than I've ever known & I'm old!:giggler:
One word of caution though, the Isle of Skye can be midge central when no-one else is being bothered by them. :whatthe::oops2:

Whatever you do we hope you have a great time & take some very happy memories to take home with you, oh & show us some photo's when you can?

It's only £7 in advance but if the buggers swarm you it's worth millions!!

Hope you have a great time:)
