We have one of these fitted to our vehicle. It seems to work well and I can see where the vehicle is at any time on an app and I get an alert on my phone if it moves outside a geofenced area. Plus every trip and move is detailed and tracked including speeds driven. distances etc (useful when you leave the vehicle for a service and you can see if they hammered it on a test drive).
BUT this week I forgot to take the Driver ID card with me - the small RFID which alerts them that the vehicle may be being driven by someone without authority e.g. stolen. The result was that I received a phone call from a number I didn't recognise while I was driving - I didn't answer it and just forgot about it.
In fact, it was Scorpion telling me the vehicle was being moved (in this case by me) without the driver ID - I am a bit disappointed that they only tried to phone me once and left it at that. I listened to my messages on New Years Day to find out it was them and phoned them to tell them it was me. The second worry is that when I phoned they just accepted it was me by confirming my name and then need I didn't have the ID in the vehicle and wouldn't have it for another couple of days.
I do think they should have tried a little harder to make contact and they should have asked for some kind off password before simply ignoring the vehicle movement.
I now have their number in my contacts so at least if it happens again I will know it is them phoning me.
I know it was my fault but what do others think - was one phone call enough?
