If I leave for France on April 22nd and return June 5th I have used 45 days of my 90 day allowance, if I then go to France on September 10th my 180 day period ends October 25th and a new 180 day period starts. Do I have to return to England on the 25th October or can I stay till November 5th as I am now using my next 180 day allowance?
Thank you for your thoughts.

It's a rolling window. So anything more than 180 days ago is irrelevant. It doesn't reset.

I think the maths means that because the gap between the two breaks was more than 90 days, you won't go over.

There are lots of apps that help you calculate and keep track of your day's

We use this one and is simple enough

I'll try to make this as simple as possible.

On the 25th October when your second visit is due to end, this is where you count backwards in the calendar.
25th Oct is day 298 in the year. Count backwards 180 days and the date is 28th April (Day 118)
As, by then, you will already be in the Schengen zone, by the 25th October you will have only? spent 90 days in
the previous 174 days.

As this is less than 90/180 days in Schengen, you may continue to stay in the zone for a period of 90 days from 10th September,
BECAUSE! as you continue your stay in Sept/Oct, the period of time you visited in April/May/June drops off the
other end of the 180 days.
viz. If you stay on from 25th Oct, on 26th you will have only been in Schengen 174days, 27th Oct. the same, ad nausium
until you have stayed 90days (from 10th Sept. to 10th December)

I need to sit down ,it made me dizzy.

The thing to remember is that nothing ‘resets’ and that there is a ‘new’ 180 day assessment period EVERY day that passes.

To assess if a planned trip is viable, count back 180 days from the last day of your planned trip; if the count of days in the Schengen area is <90 days then all is good, otherwise you will need to reconsidr the dates of your planned trip.

Go to the App Store, if Apple product, or Google store if Android and down load “Schengen Simple” App. The best one I have seen to help keep track of dates.

I think that after a free trial, which would allow you to get a definitive answer to your question, if you want to keep it it costs about £4 a year.

We have it.

I find ninety180 the easiest app.BUSBY.

Thank you all. Have just down loaded ninety180.com and it has confirmed what Emmit said and what i thought would be ok. Well worth the cup of coffee to the web designer.

Hi

We travel to France on the 21June until 22 July 2023. We then go to Norway in November for 12 nights. I have downloaded the 90/180 app but find it a bit confusing. Can anyone clarify please?

My maths says that is 37 days so where could be the problem for 90/180?

So from my understanding then, if I go in the middle of June, I have 90 days 'abroad' time in 180 days. Therefore my 180 days window will run out in the middle of December. When does my next 180 days start? From the middle of December again?

Next time we see you you are more than welcome to join us for a thank you beverage!

The day's are rolling day's on 90 180 app just put in the day's you are in the EU and it will show your balance of your 90 day's which as you move forward are updated you can go right upto 90 day's. There's no need to keep counting the 180 day's.
