The control panel on our Hymer has gone faulty again it has lost some of the segments on the display but is also reading the wrong voltage ie 12.3v when the leisure batteries actually read 13.2v on a test meter can this have any affect on the charging of the cab battery as that was down to 11.4v.
We have an Lrm 1218 solar reg that I fitted from new and it has been no trouble for a year we have had plenty of sun but do use the cab radio a fair bit (from the cab battery)

I should add we have a replacement on order.

I missed the cab battery bit, someone said only the other day that the solar does not charge the cab battery without battery master or CAK tanks gadget.

That’s what I assumed @Lenny HB but the hab voltage fluctuates on the display by the minute I have done a check with the meter and the cab battery was only 11.6 so maybe the radio pulls that down as it has some sort of sound system in the van with a woofer etc.

A lot of the double Din units pull a silly amout of power even in standby.

When I fitted my LRM1218, it came with 2 leads, the instructions (in German !) stated to disconnect one lead (red if I remember correctly) then conect the second lead in line with another one. Now my van and jab batteries both charge from my 250w of solar.
My EBL is 99. See picture.

@Lenny HB can you think of any reason the voltage on these slave displays would read so much apart, I assume the ebl controls everything and the display is a mimic of that ?

This panel is only a slave to the ebl or so I thought but the old one read 12.6v then I fitted the new one and that reads 14.3v so I put the old one back and it reads 12.2.
As this panel is only a slave I can’t understand why they both show different voltage only minutes apart,
Shouldn't have any effect on charging the panel only monitors the voltage via the EBL.

Fitting this new panel seems to have corrected all these strange readings, I have checked batteries with a meter all seem to read correctly now.
I hope this makes sense.
