OMG, is there something about motorhomes and some of the people into them who also admin Facebook groups and some forums that creates Soup Nazi's (Seinfeld reference)? You might just say,"if it's not your cup of tea, just leave the group". The problem is, if it's got a lot of members, they have good knowledge. It's a good resource that's bigger than any one member, or admin. I like to contribute, but don't like my posts being deleted just because it doesn't agree with an admin's own opinion, or his (they're always men) petty squabbles with another sites owner. Often cloaked by referring to 'The Rules'.

I've seen an admin say, 'it's my group. If you don't like how I run it (in effect) F.. off'. Won't accept a post that they disagree with, or a link to a site they don't like. Really poor attitude.

"You don't like Admin? No group for you!"

Look up 'Soup Nazi' on YTube if you have no idea what the reference is about.
(I never took a liking to Seinfeld, but George is great)

Note - This forum seems fine. Never notice the admin's presence - which is how it should be. Good job and thanks.

I wouldn't care about numbers...if I thought it was run by tossers I'd leave..like I did with a wildcamping site.

You mean the one which is one of three he runs and charges for membership, then censors the heck out of what you can talk about? I did the same. Just annoyed I ever paid for it.

Exactly...I made him aware of my thoughts and left. Then realised lots of others felt the same.

HOG? Sorry its late, I don't get that one, unless its a Harley of course. :giggle: Which I wouldn't ride if you offered it free.

I liked Gerry Seinfeld, but didn’t like George. One man’s meat etc.

I came off a Facebook Motorhome forum I’ve never heard such filthy language, effing this and that, B word, arguments.

Lawyers' forums are also like that. They must lead such miserable depressing lives that after work they feel the need to fight among themselves, like rats in a sack. The level is about the same as you might find behind the school bike shed. Anyone asking for help with a problem at work risks getting ridiculed and insulted. Some of the worst culprits are their own Moderators. The nicer active posters all disappeared long ago. You don't have to be a qualified lawyer to join, so there are vicious posters with no connection to the profession.

I am surprised that the main one is an open forum that the public can see. I suppose it attracts traffic, a bit like watching bare knuckle fighting. Keeps the sponsors happy, at least if they only care about traffic on the site and ignore the awful content that does the profession no favours. Why law firms keep advertising their jobs there is a mystery. Are they really hoping to recruit from this nasty bunch?

I came off Faecesbook after just a month, ten years ago. I'm not accustomed to 'mixing' with such socially inadequate and vulgar people.

There‘s a pub stops FB group that amuses me. The most active admin is a caravanner!
If someone asks if it’s acceptable to stay over in a caravan and folks suggest that it’s not suitable for caravans, they (the admin) will chirp in stating that they’ve stayed at some pubs and it’s best just to ring the pub.

The only posts allowed are those asking about possible stops, or reviews of stops. There is an exception though, the caravanning admin can post a daily blog of their caravan trips!

I’d like to know which lawyers’ forum you’re referring to. None of the ones I frequent have anything like you describe. Admittedly, they’re not FB sites. I just can’t be a*sed with anything to do with FB or the other musky thing.

Sadly most forums are the same. Some believe they own the thread because they started it and if you disagree with them, they bar you. This site is generally good but also has its moments. Hymers have been overrated and over priced for a long time.

But some of those moments are funny and allow us to take the pee out of people in a fun way of course!
