ive got a oyster 85cm.... surly I should be able to get some English tv...? I’m just left of Munich ....

2 years ago I was getting all the channels in a lot of Spain, looking at the foot print of Astra 2 it looks like the only chance of anything is mainly France and not even the south of France..

I’m beginning to think of @hilldweller and take it off and put another solar panel up, flog it and put the money towards wifi data and watch tv on our iPad like we are now.......

On All the Astra footprints I've seen the yellow band on the one above is actually the outer band and the inner band is closer to Paris.
Germany doesn't enter the footprint at all but Belgium and a bit of Holland do.

The UK spot beam is even smaller, barely crossing the channel and misses off the very top of Scotland.

The single LNB is twice as strong as the twin, so would easily explain why it worked two years ago, have you upgraded the LNB?

Good memory Eddie, 2yrs ago was a different Motorhome....

I put the twin LMB on the dish and it works better then the old single I had on but I did not convert to twin cable, it was too much hassle to disturb all the roof inlets and drill bigger holes in the satellite mechanism just so Sharp could tape another channel..... I’ve just got to put my foot down on some of her demands....

We are currently in Gruissan (near Narbonne) and are getting all the free sat channels with an 85cm oyster dish. Although had to fine tune the dish direction to get them

There is a system called single cable distribution, you only need one cable but it can connect to different TV's, each displaying a different program. I expect eddie knows all about it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single_cable_distribution

11yrs, but many years a tugger.
Just buy the conversion stuff from Oyster, expensive, but then no holes need be drilled in the mechanism.

We are down in Twin Lakes at the moment and with the Oyster easily get all channels with a 95% SS & 85% PQ. If I got up on the roof and tweek the skew a bit I am sure I could improve on that. :)

We got most Astra 2e U.K. channels on our Snipe 2 just above Perpignan and again near Toulouse in February.
We got no UK channels near Bordeaux.
I think it’s difficult to say with any certainty where you will be able to pick up signals, without trying it out.
The published footprints don’t seem very accurate.

Try twisting the LNB a few degrees clockwise. There is an app that gives the correct angle for the LNB if you have GPS on your phone (free).
