I was under the impression that sat tv was now becoming obsolete as most tv is internet based. Have you considered a mobile internet device and a good value contract. I get all sky tv and terrestrial tv through my wifi system. Could save yourself some money.

With 90 minutes of viewing using about 1.5gb of data your going to need one hell of a good data contract if you want to watch much TV in your motorhome.

I think there's a bit of life left in satellite TV yet.

I know that a fitted dish is thought to be best but why not look at

which does not need fitting, does not need holes in the roof, does not cause extra drag and can be placed where there is a signal when the MH is under trees?

that's what they said about vinyl records ;)

as already said.. you need a good data connection, which can be very poor or non existent in many rural areas... and plenty of cheap data .

using internet abroad you would struggle even more..

Unless you use expensive sites with a TV connection Sat TV is nowhere near obsolete.. it's by far the easiest and most reliable way to get connected.

As for fitting.. it's a really easy job, glue dish to roof with Sikafelex , drill one hole in roof for cables, use cable entry housing, and it's plug and play.

Alden A4 Auto Dish kit that I fitted comes with everything you need .. including a pier of latex gloves..

I’m looking to get a satellite dish added as well but can’t make up my mind which one as yet. I like the look of the Maxview system if anyone has any advice.
However in the subject of fitting I take this little grey box on top of my motorhome is the connection to the 2 tv points inside. Would I connect the satellite cable to this box?

No, sat dish connection goes through the roof and to the receiver/decoder, from the decoder to the TV.
Looks like that is pre wiring for solar panels.
