please could someone advise me as to the correct paint to use on my sat dish, should it be a gloss or matt. Thanks in antisapation, sime..

Never heard of a need to paint with a special type.

I'd opt for a nice hammerite and spray away. My dish is definitely a dull matt finish, so hammerite must be the choice I'd say :)

You could put a printed vinyl sticker on it of a nice scene or animal :)

Thanks pp, my dish is so Matt that it’s an embarrassment , but it works fine . I’ll go with hammerite, it should be fine. Thanks again .

Anything that doesn't reflect light too well. It has been known for focussed sunlight to fry the LNB.

:D The early days of Sky TV and the Amstrad systems.. They made the LNB caps from a plastic that had no UV protection and the concentrated, focused, reflection from the sun used to burn a hole in them, then the water got in and ruined the LNB.. My mate worked at the factory where they made the dishes and he could buy the LNB's for me far cheaper than from the wholesalers (well thats what he told me ;))..
Made some cash from that for a while... - HAPPY DAYS

Sounds reasonable. Still wouldn't paint it silver though :).

I think gloss would be easier to keep clean.
If you chose an unusual colour, you'd also be able to spot your vehicle from afar!

Forget about gloss, forget about matt, Satin is the way to go. Clues in the name.:whistle:
