hi all what Sat Nav would you recommend I’m looking at auguri rv520 and rv 720 thanks

Garmin as well: We have the older Garmin Dezl 770 with free map updates. It can do traffic from the phone or via a traffic receiver (whilst that lasts). Has worked fine most of the time. Sometimes it wants to take us on and off at a junction but we just ignore it. It can be configured for weight and height etc.
Cheers

I couldn’t get on with my Aguri. It wasn’t very intuitive and sometimes the mapping was iffy, but you could say that about the mapping on most others as well. Now using Garmin which I much prefer. As always these things are very subjective.

We have an Ohrex (Amazon) been all round the UK and Spain with no issues.

You can enter size of vehicle, etc and bargain we paid £65 for it….

I also went with a cheap as chips Xgody and have not had any trouble with it. Again vehicle dimensions can be imputted.

As an alternative, I have been very happy with Sygic Truck which works with tablets and phones.

I use a Chinese xgody and copilot on a tablet. I never just have one satnav after being stuck on a narrow bridge when one stopped working temporarily for no obvious reason.
Gave up on tomtom as I found its rerouting was awful once you left its preferred route.

I have an old Garmin which I used for years driving a coach around Europe and it never let me down. Still have it in the car.
Then I "inherited" a TomTom and have to say I found it easier to use, so much so that when I decided to upgrade I stayed with TomTom - never regretted it. My ultimate decision was what it could do for me, things like free updates for life, traffic advisories etc. It "paid" for itself a couple of weeks after I bought it when I came upon a really serious traffic jam and TomTom took me around it without fuss and only losing a few minutes of my journey time.

I have the bigger Aguri and have been pleased on the whole. Now it's around 5 years old it's started leaping off the dashboard though.

Always had sat navs attached to windscreen with no problem until we got an Aguri, left it as normal and it melted! Not as if we were somewhere exotic, just in Newhaven🤣

Neither and non, they are all pointless, buy a £10 road map.

Often asked. Many threads if you use the 'Search' facility.
Here's just one ......

I honestly think the top 2 satnav’s are either Tom Tom or Garmin. I also think it’s a matter of opinion.
A bit like Apple or Android. The arguments go on.

Me, I’m Garmin.

In the South Of France a few years ago we decided to have a trip to Barcelona in the Motorhome with some friends.

We set up the Garmin (mine) and Tom Tom (friends) together in our Motorhome before setting off.

The Garmin said 3hrs, the Tom Tom 1hr 40mins.
Both followed the same route to the Spanish border and then the Tom Tom recalculated and added another 1hr 20mins on to its destination.

Enough said.

I believe most shipping vessels use Garmin, the ones that go missing around Bermuda obviously use Tom Tom 😂😂😂

Google on a phone? I've been a passenger where the driver followed the instructions by his partner, which worked well, but couldn't see how that would translate to using it as the sole driver, as with a sat Nav. How does that work with the law, even if it's fixed to the dashboard? I've tried the Aguri, didn't get on well with it, and went back to the basic TomTom. I would feel lost (literally) without it, but am not sure what to go with next. The cheap Chinese ones seem tempting, but I'm reluctant to buy another cheap digital trinket destined for the tip.

Aguri 👎 The worst sat nav I’ve ever had, I had to stop myself literally from throwing it out of the window on several occasions in France and dug out my old Garmin to preserve my sanity.

I have the 720:AGURI and it’s been brilliant. Always redirects where the route is not suitable and has a built in dash com. Had it for over 5 years without issue

Apple map on my iPad. Been brilliant for past 10 years and updated every time they release an Apple update 👍🏻

Can’t input dimensions, but then I certainly don’t rely on a sat nav to remind me of the vehicle size and dimensions 😀

Nice bid screen and very clear to read and follow.

After struggling with Apple Maps, Google Maps and the Co Pilot apps with my I Pad I have gone back to my crusty old Garmin Navi.
There is a rumor that farther Christmas might be bringing me a new Garmin with a bigger screen to help my aged eye sight.

I to am a fan of the Chinese Truck Sat Navs, and have been using them reliably for years. (y)

I have just updated our 9" unit, and 7" spare unit, with the latest HERE 2022 Q2 Truck map updates and POIs, ready for our jolly to the sun soon.

Cheers,

Jock. :)
