Recently there was a post about someone’s sat nav just turning itself off. I have searched but can’t find the thread. Ours is doing the same today, quite a few times. The cable is pushed right into the holder.
Can anyone remember the thread please or anyone else had this problem?
Thanks
Actually it’s rebooting not turning right off

Sounds faulty to me.
Even with the cable disconnected it should switch to internal battery.
Try pushing the reset button.
Location will be in your manual.

Hi cruisers, I think it may have been me!

I was advised to tape the fitting that goes into the lighter socket,, and push a pin into the hole on it to reset it! I have done both, and reset to factory settings on screen,,, we shall see! Good luck!

Had a similar irritating reboot problem with a smaller Garmin used in the car.

The cable connection to the socket on the back is a bit loose.

Are you using a genuine charging cable? I only ask as a few years ago my son lost his and used a cable that was not garmin and experienced similar problems. Genuine cable sorted the problem.

And if you can't find the 'Reset' button and it's a Garmin, you will find that if you remove the product identity strip on the back of the unit, you will find a 'Nipple?' and by using a fingernail pressed on it will set the unit.

Ours is a tom tom and it’s a genuine cable that came with the device. No problems until now. We are driving at moment will check for reboot button later. Thanks.
