Has anyone found that the fan is on most of the time when charging. Is this normal? Comments please Rod

NO.. Not normal.. Fan runs when the unit is getting hot, so could be an issue..
If you were in Spain and hot all day then maybe but not in UK with the weather we have now..
At best it may be clogged up with dust, Check that ventilation is ok.. Leave cupboard door open and see what happens.. How old are the batteries, maybe one is faulty and causing a heavy drain on the system.. Check water level if possible.
Worst case Sargent are very helpful so a phone call or email to them could be the next step.
