Hi we are planning to travel from saarbrucken to Italy in a Moho that is over 3.5 tonne, can anyone tell me is it possible to go over the San Gottard Pass or should I go a different route.
As Swiss is on the naughty list I just need to transit Swiss to Italy.

Thanks
Dave.

But if they wish simply to traverse Switzerland 🇨🇭 its as cheap as chips, even fir over 3.5t. I’ve just used it.

but I got caught out on the way back using Frejus tunnel €62.50 AGAIN
Thanks for the reply, but you have me confused with the cheap as chips comment and Frejus being 62.50

I used gottard on the way out. Part of vignette .

Came back through frejus tunnel from Italy to France instead of Aosta route. Cost me €62.50 one way .

Swiss vignette over 3.5t cost me 39 CHF.

that covered me for 12 days and includes gottard tunnel

More than possible, and so much more rewarding

Wouldn't bother with the tunnel. It's a great route

The S G Tunnel is a bit boring ( & smokey). Over the top is a fabulous drive, not to be missed. Also the original route above the (pricey) Frejus tunnel, the Mont Cenis pass, past Lake Mont Cenis, is terrific, very scenic , and a decent road. Takes you straight from France to Italy, bypassing Switzerland altogether.

Mont Cenis route is very doable. Done it in our 8.6m and it's a great route. Stopping overnight at the lake, gorgeous.

Easy in a motorhome, well worth the detour, pop up the Furkha pass for a coffee at the top when you get to andermatt as the view of the valley is quite stunning
